Inheritors of Earth | FEATURED EVENTS
A Saturday Family Workshop exploring plants through observation, drawing, and artistic expression.
Explore the forms, colours, textures, and intricate details of plant life through botanical drawing and painting. Drawing inspiration from Inheritors of Earth and its exploration of plants as subjects of knowledge, memory, and artistic expression, participants discover how plants are closely observed, studied, and translated into artistic forms.
Working on rice paper, participants create detailed botanical studies based on direct observation, giving close attention to the distinctive structures, patterns, and characteristics of plants. The workshop encourages participants to slow down and consider how careful observation shapes the way a plant is represented, while exploring the relationship between plant forms, material, technique, and artistic practice.
Designed for children and adults to create together, the session offers an opportunity to engage with botanical drawing as both a practice of observation and a way of interpreting and translating plant life through art.
While you're here, explore KNMA's two ongoing exhibitions, Inheritors of Earth and In-Rhythm.
Bringing families together through making and shared discovery, the programme offers a creative way to experience the museum and enjoy art in Delhi, near Saket.
