Sounds by AKS brings Bombay Talkies to Dubai — Flipsyd's genre-defining IP that reimagines Bollywood as a global sound. Think Bollywood melodies stitched into Afro house grooves and melodic techno, produced to the standard you'd expect from Flipsyd, and then pushed further. In Flipsyd's own words: "The core idea was to represent Bollywood music in a global format — the way the Indo house wave sampled folk music, not Bollywood itself. This is Bollywood, but packaged in Afro house and melodic techno. You're watching a three-hour Bollywood movie with a lot of déjà vu — music you've heard, you've experienced, but never quite like this. It's Bollywood meets cutting-edge global electronic music." Bombay Talkies has only played a handful of rooms since it began this year — two nights at Hyderabad's Big Bull (ranked among the world's top 60 clubs) and a sold-out debut at Bombay's Barbank, where over 1,000 people packed in on a Wednesday night. Dubai is one of its first international stops, alongside a Kuala Lumpur date the same month. Joining Flipsyd for the night is Dubai favourite DJ Buddha.
